Level description:
Salsa Level 1 (beginners):
This is for all new startes/complete beginners in Salsa. You get a fun and fully
worked out base of the Salsa dance, learning the basic steps and movements on your own
and all the basic combinations and leading techniques with a partner.
You don't need a dancepartner to be able to register to Salsa classes!
We have an about 50/50 % divided registration from both men and female
and around 90% of students enter a Salsa class without a partner.
But of course you can enter with your own partner if you prefer or wish this.
We change partner after about each song, this is for both technical and social reasons.
Salsa Level 2 (beginners 2):
For you who have taken a beginners class but still need to work on your rhythm
and who wants to have light & easy combinations to perfect your basic skills in Salsa.
If you have danced other dance styles or taken some salsa lessons elsewhere you
can jump directly into this level, as long as you are quick to catch on the music
and steps.
Salsa Level 3 (intermediate 1):
At the intermediate level your basic knowledge of salsa is developed.
We work more on understanding the rhythm, the salsa moves (body/feet/hips)
and of course fun and cool steps and combinations which leads you the step
further to understanding the dance. This is the level where you become more routined
in the Salsa while you in the meantime feel that the level rises a bit.
Salsa level 4 (intermediate 2):
At intermediate 2 it is expected that you know the basic steps and terms in this salsa style
(unless you are an advanced Cuban salsa dancer or are ready for challenges).
You are now ready for combinations of a little higher level that leads you towards the
combinations danced at the advanced level but while still practicing and feel
at home with your already learned techniques. You also get basic individual techniques and
training for turns/spins, a few more shines that you can do on your own and get
introduced to some cool and useful men & lady "styling" in the couple dancing.
You will still be taught and corrected in your leading and following
and your way to executed the dance with energy and precision without stressing
your mind and body.
The class will give you greater understanding of the dance, the music,
the social aspect and makes you feel more comfortable to get on the dancefloor.
Salsa level 5 (Advanced):
We teach you beautiful dance patterns in an advanced level, good leading techniques
and how to make easy-to-perform turns and spins. Furthermore we will focus
on development of a good body move and foot work/shines plus good advicing on how to
be fluent in your dance and style.
We expect that our advanced dancers practice outside of the class, either by
going out dancing Salsa at the clubs or by practicing extra at home with a partner.
This helps you to better follow the class, get familiar with & feel confident
with the Salsa in your own pace, makes you memorize your combinations or techniques
and advance your level quicker.
Salsa level 6 (Masterclass):
The step higher than advanced level. We work on more complex turnpatterns
and techniques
and work on getting a better flow, styling and personality into your dance.
We also give you shines and keep working on your body movements.
Many of our masterclass students also travel with us, on their own or with each other
to the international Salsa Congresses around the world. The popular ones are normally the
onces closed to Denmark (Sweden, Germany, Poland etc.) or for more warm and exotic places -
or for the big Salsa capital New York City.

Salsa level 7
(Show/Performance student class):
The Show class for you who already have danced Salsa at an advanced or masterclass level,
and who wants to learn to dance a show-choreography and perform at Salsa events
at salsa clubs in Copenhagen and more.
We expect that you will participate in all classes and will be committed to the practice
and to the "team-spirit" of the group. IF you miss any class we expect that you yourself
catch up on the missed parts with your partner outside of the normal classes.
Furthermore you have to be qualified to and motivated for working on the techniques
we give you (combinations, Styling and Shines) and have the spirit to perform.
You don't need to have experience in performing.
In return we promise you an unforgettable and improving process and experience
(both techniqually and socialy), a highly qualified teaching level, andwe'll take you the
step further to working with a choreography and performing with the Salsa!
You have to register the class with a dancepartner (if you don't have one,
we might help you out in finding one for you).
New York Salsa (On2)/ Cha-Cha-Cha
(Basic level)
Get the groove & fever everybody is talking about!
For all curious and newstarters in this style.
Learn it all from scratch.
Get the flow, understanding of the music, rhythm and the joy for dancing.
The salsascene of Copenhagen is an exciting development,
and maybe you have seen it danced or heard people speak about Cha-Cha-Cha
& New York Salsa Style/Mambo or the term "dancing on 2”?
- or you have been traveling and seen how salsa is danced around the world?
Many of the advanced dancers prefer this Salsa style and many newer dancers
in Denmark have now started to appreciate and get curious to know the Salsa style.
Salsa is a wide description for many styles and ways in which you can express yourself
to music and listen to the contagious latin american music where the clave instrument
is the central music instrument of the music.
It's the music that tells us how we "the best way" match and move to the music.
So this is just one of the ways to dance Salsa.
New York Salsa (On2)/ Cha Cha Cha (intermediate):
If you are an intermediate or slighty advanced dancer in L.A. (On1) or Cuban Salsa
but want to learn the On2 Salsa style without starting with too basic combinations
this level is for you. The level is also for those who already know the On2 style
from a basic level or have a little experience.
Same steps and combination techniques from L.A. Salsa are used
in New York Style, but you are taught how to make the the dance more smooth,
tighter and how to hear, feel and move to the rhythm used in dancing On2.
Cha Cha Cha (advanced):
The Cha Cha Cha (the Eddie Torres/N.Y. style) focuses on using the Cha-Cha rhythm with the
hips and torso, footworks/shines and in the couple dancing. Less "poses" than
the latin american sportsdancing Cha-Cha
but with salsa combinations, bodymovement and shines incooperated.
As an advanced dancer in Salsa you can really benefit from knowing this style as this
is danced a lot on the international salsa congresses and is the easy way for learning the
New York Salsa style in a slower version and learn how to FEEL the music and move with it.
You need an advanced level in salsa (regardless salsastyle) to join this class.
New York Salsa/On2 (Advanced):
Salsa on 2, which is the most hottest in salsa around the world -
and you almost can't dance at salsa congresses around the world without it.
We teach you salsa on 2 (Mambo/New York style) - with body movements from the Cuban Rumba.
The steps are marked on the 1 count but where the man basic step is:
(1) on the spot w/ left, (2) back w/ right and (3) forward w/ left -
and the ladies step the opposite.
The rhythm accentuates on 2 and 6 (which means dancing to the conga rhythm in the music
or dancing"contra-tiempo" - just like for example in the chachacha).
The style opens up for using the music and body in a different and funky way than what is
normally seen when dancing on the 1 beat. Be the one to spread the style in Denmark
...or renew your own style...
